"Before you heal someone, ask him if he's willing to give up the things that make him sick" - Hippocrates

What Is Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling?

Starting therapy can be overwhelming enough as it is, and then the different terms and words that people use can add stress and confusion to an already disruptive time.

In short, being a psychotherapeutic counsellor means that I am a talking therapist. By using an integrative approach it means that I have studied in a way which has allowed me to learn a number of approaches and theories which allow me to weave together a unique approach for each one of my equally unique clients.

How I Work

The human experience is complex; each one of us has had our own individual journey, a weaving together of experiences; which leads to our own special take on life, events, emotions, thoughts and relationships.

With an integrative approach I am able to tailor my approach to my client work.  I work with you to find the best approach that suits your needs. Over time we will build a relationship that has trust at its core.

In understanding how you relate to yourself and others we will begin to unfold where issues have developed.  I seek to provide a growth facilitating environment for my clients where we can look at any issues that are causing distress and in time begin to repair and heal these parts of you.  From this understanding and the application of new ways of approaching your life and relationships we will work towards helping find more peace, more mindful awareness, more acceptance and love for yourself and those around you.

There is no set time frame for how long this journey is, and taking the first step can often feel like the hardest, but with regular check ins, honest feedback and trust you will find your way, together, along this path.

I have studied at Newcastle University, Regents University, CPPD and Metanoia Institute and have over 4 years experience working with clients.

I have worked with clients with a range of issues including but not limited to the following;

  • GAD / Anxiety

  • Depression

  • ADHD / ADD

  • Abuse

  • Low self esteem

  • Communication difficulties

  • Addiction

  • Bereavement / Loss

  • HSP (highly sensitive people)

  • Self harm

  • Relationship problems / end of relationships

  • Existential crisis
